This story began with a simple fascination: the idea of being able to read people’s minds.
I’ve always been drawn to the quiet, invisible conversations that happen beneath the surface — the thoughts we don’t say out loud, the impulses we suppress, the moments where a single internal decision changes everything. I often wondered how different human connection might feel if we could truly hear what others were thinking in real time.
That curiosity shaped the foundation of The Path to Dark Love.
From the beginning, this story demanded more than a single point of view. Certain moments needed to be experienced twice — not to repeat events, but to reveal how differently the same truth can be felt, interpreted, and carried. Writing key scenes from both Angela’s and Dominic’s perspectives allowed me to explore not just what happens between them, but what happens inside them.
Dominic, in particular, was written with ADHD traits very deliberately. His mind moves fast — sometimes relentlessly — racing through thoughts, scenarios, fears, and possibilities at a speed that often overwhelms even him. That internal intensity is mirrored structurally in the story itself: longer chapters, layered inner dialogue, and moments of overthinking that spiral before they resolve. This is not accidental. It is meant to place the reader inside his experience rather than simply observing it.
Angela exists as both contrast and balance. Where Dominic’s mind runs at full velocity, hers grounds, challenges, and steadies him — even as she carries her own internal battles. Their dynamic is not about one fixing the other, but about two very different internal worlds colliding, clashing, and ultimately learning how to coexist.
Another central element of this book is internal turmoil — the messy, intrusive, sometimes contradictory thoughts we all live with. The inner voices that influence how we love, how we fight, how we protect ourselves, and how we choose others. I wanted those inner conversations to feel raw and honest, even when they are uncomfortable, because they shape who we are far more than what we say out loud.
Thank you for stepping into Angela and Dominic’s world and allowing yourself to experience their intensity, vulnerability, and emotional truth. I hope their journey resonated with you as deeply as it did with me while bringing it to life.
I trust you know your triggers before you proceed. The book is recommended exclusively for a mature audience.
